Chip Babcock

Partner
Chip Babcock was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., raised in West Palm Beach, Fla., and graduated from Brown University in 1971. He earned his degree from Boston University School of Law in 1976 and served as the Boston University Law Review’s executive editor from 1975-1976. He is a preeminent First Amendment lawyer and trial and appellate attorney.

Kevin Kunec

Litigation Paralegal
Kevin Kunec joined Mr. Babcock’s team in 2016.  A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Kevin has been a litigation paralegal for over twenty years and has worked on both the plaintiff and defense sides of lawsuits involving commercial, securities, media, oil & gas, employment, intellectual property and other matters.  Over the course of his career, he has been the trial paralegal for a $112 million state court judgment, $28 million arbitration award and numerous take nothing verdicts.  He provides assistance to Mr. Babcock’s team in all aspects of case development from pre-suit investigation through trial.

Christa Liczbinski

Litigation Paralegal
Christa A. Liczbinski is a Litigation Paralegal who has had the privilege of assisting Chip in all phases of litigation (including his pro-bono practice), from inception through discovery and trial since January 1985. She assists with document examination and management, drafting of pleadings, fact development, deposition and trial preparation. Christa was born, raised and educated in Munich, Germany and started her career there before her husband’s transfer to Dallas.

Miguel Villalpando

Trial Graphic Designer
Miguel A. Villalpando has been a Jackson Walker L.L.P. Litigation Support Trial Graphic Designer since October 2009.  He has over 15 years of multimedia/graphic design experience during his professional career and has in-depth knowledge of litigation and trial technology support. Mr. Villalpando collaborates with the firm’s attorneys, paralegals, and support staff in strategically identifying key concepts and creating compelling visual and textual presentations utilizing a variety of design software for use in trials, mock trials, mediations, and hearings.

Tim Herndon

Trial Technology Specialist
Tim Herndon is a seasoned Trial Technology Specialist in State and Federal trials with over 15 years’ experience.  He has worked with Mr. Babcock and other attorneys on many matters including demonstrative creation, video production, document management and courtroom presentation of evidence to judges and juries. He resides in Kingwood, TX with his wife and two sons.

Marti Walker

Legal Administrative Assistant
A native Houstonian, Ms. Walker serves as Mr. Babcock’s Legal Administrative Assistant bringing with her over 25 years of industry experience including five years in Jackson Walker’s real estate section.  She assists Mr. Babcock in all aspects of his litigation practice while managing the day-to-day operations of the office which includes coordinating meetings, travel, handling expenses and extensive clerical duties. Additionally, Ms. Walker serves as Administrative Assistant to the Supreme Court Advisory Committee that is Chaired by Mr. Babcock.
